Nissan’s electric super-car will be showcased at the Frankfurt motor show on February 13, the company has announced.
The car, dubbed “the electric Porsche,” will be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, which takes place from February 13-16, 2018, the Japanese automaker said on Twitter.
The Nissan electric supercab is the first supercar to be built with electric motors, said Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn.
“The Porsche will go on sale in 2019, bringing the world’s first electric supercars to the masses,” Ghosne said in a statement.
The Porsche, which is being developed by a consortium led by Volkswagen, will be powered by the Nissan Electric Drive platform.
The electric super cab will feature a range of 300 kilometres on a single charge, and the car will have a top speed of 150 km/h.
It will also feature a carbon fibre roof and a rear diffuser that will increase aerodynamic efficiency.
Nissan is the world leader in the electric vehicle market with more than 1,500 electric super vehicles in operation.
The automaker has been working on a number of electric vehicles in the last year, including the Nissan Leaf, a car which will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in October.
