A Tesla spokesperson told Vice News that the company has no immediate plans to issue refunds to owners of the 2019 Model S sedan.
Instead, Tesla’s policy is to issue a one-time cash refund to the customer upon returning their vehicle.
“We’re going to have a refund policy in place for customers who return their 2019 Tesla S sedan for a refund,” the spokesperson said.
“We’re not saying what the terms of that are, but we’re doing our best to provide customers with the best service and product they can expect.”
The spokesperson declined to offer any other details about the refund policy, which could result in a $100 fee, or details about how Tesla’s new “self-driving” feature will work.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
